The construction work for the underground station, located near the Delhi Gate junction of Najafgarh, will be using the cut and cover technology, DMRC said.
"Thus, one side of carriage way of the main Najafgarh Road near Delhi Gate will have to be excavated since there is severe space constraint in that area. However, it would be restored and re-constructed after the completion of the work," a DMRC statement said.
Small vehicles coming from Delhi Gate towards Tura Mandi, will be diverted via the Najafgarh - Nangloi Road for a period of one year whereas heavy vehicles will have to take the Najafgarh Nala Road via Rajiv Ratna Awas from the Najafgarh - Nangloi Road to reach Dwarka Mor.
The upcoming Dwarka-Najafgarh section would be 4.4 kilometre long, with three elevated stations - Dwarka, Nangli and Najafgarh and is slated to open by 2017.
