Normalcy returns in eastern Rajasthan

With south-west monsoon showing signs of weakening, normalcy has returned in the eastern parts of Rajasthan which were badly affected due to heavy rains.
No rains were reported in the last 24 hours in Karauli, Dholpur, Bharatpur and nearby regions.
"The situation overall is normal and people who were staying in temporary shelters have returned to their houses. However, rainwater is still accumulated at few areas," said Karauli additional district collector Narendra Kumar Jain.
He said that authorities has been asked to conduct a survey of the area to ascertain the extent of loss due to the rainfalls.
Dholpur district collector Suchi Tyagi said that situation has improved in many villages which were cut off from the district headquarters after the rainfall.
"The weather is clear and situation is normal now. A survey of losses is also being conducted," she added.
Director of Met department Jaipur, A K Srivastava said that the monsoon has weakened since yesterday and likely to revive after five-six days.
Meanwhile, Pilani received 9 cm of rainfall followed by Galiakot in Dungarpur which received 6 cm since yesterday.

Several places in Jaipur division recorded heavy rains
since yesterday.
Light rains occured in other areas barring Ajmer division which remained dry during this period.
Pilani in Jhunjhunu district recorded 16.2 mm rainfall till evening.
The Met department has predicted light rainfall likely to occur at isolated areas in the state.
