Northern army commander visits LoC in Kupwara, review security situation

Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Ranbir Singh visited forward posts on the Line of Control (LoC) to review the overall security scenario in the Kashmir Valley, defence spokesman at northern command said on Friday.

The Army Commander accompanied by the Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen KJS Dhillon visited formations along the LoC in forward areas of Kupwara District, he said.

He was briefed on development works, counter infiltration grid and operational preparedness.

The commander was appreciative of the measures and Standard Operating Procedures instituted by the units and formations to meet the challenges posed by the inimical elements.

During his interaction with the troops he spoke about their selfless service and applauded their motivation and high spirits in such difficult and challenging climatic conditions.

He also applauded the Army's efforts towards providing assistance to the Awam in such rough weather conditions.
