Noted academician Anil Bordia passes away

Bordia(78), a retired IAS officer, who was admitted to the hospital for the last few days, breathed his last at around 11 pm last night.

He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

The funeral will take place tomorrow at Adarsh Nagar cremation ground and condolence meeting will take place on Wednesday.

Bordia, a retired IAS officer of 1957 batch, was well known for his contribution in education sector for which he was honoured with Padma Bhushan and also felicitated at international level by the UNESCO.

Post retirement, he had initiated many education programmes in the state including 'Lok Jumbish Project', which was an innovative concept for education for all.
