NRL records its highest ever net profit at Rs 718.31 crore

Numaligarh Refinery Limited has recorded its highest ever net profit of Rs 718.31 crore for 2014-15, registering a growth of 93.57 per cent over the previous year.
The company also declared the highest ever dividend pay out of 40 per cent for the same period, NRL Chairman S Varadarajan told reporters after the AGM of the company here today.
The total of dividend payments to the shareholders -- BCPL, OIL and Assam government -- would amount to Rs 294.25 crore with the Assam government to receive Rs 36.34 crore as dividend for its equity of 12.35 per cent.
NRL contributed Rs 1,175 crore to the central exchequer and Rs 250 crore to the state exchequer, he added.
Profit before tax at Rs 1,134.25 crore registered a growth of 101.59 per cent as compared to Rs 562.65 crore during the previous year.
Revenue from operations at Rs 10,827.05 crore was 9.62 per cent higher as compared to Rs 9,876 crore during the previous year.
On the physical front, the refinery recorded a Distillate Yield of 90.69 per cent, the highest among PSU refineries in the country.
On the marketing front, sales volume at 2,695 TMT registered a growth of 5.7 per cent over previous year.
Sales volume within North-East India was the highest ever at 655 TMT against previous high of 620 TMT recorded during the previous year.
Direct sales as a percentage of total sales during the year reached 6.93 per cent from 3.30 per cent during the previous year, Varadarajan said.
