NTPC'S Talcher plant achieves highest generation in a day

Talcher thermal power station of NTPC achieved its ever best single day generation of 11.496 million units of electricity at 104.13 per cent Plant Load Factor (PLF) on November 23, 2016.
With an installed capacity of 460 MW, the station has four units of 60 MW and two units of 110 MW each, NTPC said in a statement.

E-payments rise post demonetisation: DishTV * Direct-to-Home operator DishTV today said that it has done over 65 lakh unique transactions through electronic payment mode until November 23 post demonetisation of Rs 500/1000 currency notes.
It has collected a service tax approximately of Rs 26 lakhs from these transactions.

The Service Tax is apart from state Entertainment Tax and license Fee levied by the ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Tata Steel awarded for sustainable development in mining * Bhubaneswar: The OMQ (Ore, Mines & Quarries) Division of Tata Steel has been conferred with the Aqua Foundation's Excellence Award 2016 under the category of Sustainable Development in Mining Sector.
The award was given away at an international conference, '10th World Aqua Congress 2016' organised on sidelines of 'Water: Smart Solutions for Growing India' in New Delhi today, a company release said.
The award was received by Dipak Behera, Head Planning Tata Steel and Adarsh Agrawal, Executive Assistant to General Manager, OMQ Division, Tata Steel from Sunita Narain, Director General of Centre for Science and Environment (CSE).
