Based on specific intelligence inputs, officers of DRI Hyderabad Zonal unit intercepted the passenger last night, a DRI release said today.
"He had cleared immigration and security checks, and was to board a flight to Dubai. During the examination of his baggage, foreign currency in the form of UAE Dirhams, Saudi Riyals and Omani Riyals was found," it said.
During his interrogation, the passenger revealed that the foreign currency was obtained from unauthorised dealers and did not belong to him. It was being carried at the behest of someone for delivery in Dubai, it added.
The passenger has been arrested and further probe into the case is in progress.
