One held for smuggling heroin from Myanmar

Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department officials today seized 22 grams of heroin worth around Rs 1 lakh in Mizoram-Myanmar border Champhai town, a department spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said that the contraband was suspected to have been smuggled from Myanmar.
Vanlalsiama (37) of Champhai was arrested in this connection and booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
The accused was remanded to judicial custody by a local court.
