One held, two smugglers escape, as 120 kg of ganja is seized

Yelamanchili rural police seized around 120 kg of ganja, worth Rs 7 lakh and arrested one smuggler, while the contraband was being smuggled to Vijayawada from BB Patnam area in a car.
Acting on tip-off, the police intercepted a car on National Highway-16 near Yelamanchili area, only to find 120 kg of ganja in the vehicle, the police said.
However, two smugglers in the car fled the spot while the police conducted vehicle checks.
Police sub-inspector K Ramakrishna said that the arrested person was identified as M Suryanarayana (20), a native of BB Patnam.
Allegedly, he had procured the contraband along with two others from the Visakhapatnam agency area to transport it to Vijayawada.

The police has registered a case under Section 20 (B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and launched a manhunt for the two others.
The arrested person will be produced before court tomorrow, the police said.
