One killed in firing

A 45-year-old man was today killed
and three others injured allegedly in firing over a land dispute in Kiratpura area here, police said.
The incident occurred this morning during a feast organised on the occasion of Eid at the house of one Aklaq in Ladpura colony, they said.
An argument broke out between Aklaq and his guests, Chuttan and his son Imran over a peice of land which they had bought in partnership, police further said.
While Aklaq was killed, his son Wasim and both his guests were injured in the ensuing firing.
The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Meerut and an investigation into the matter is underway, they said.
