Police today arrested an associate of two youths taken into custody over the weekend for their alleged involvement in anti-national activities in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur district.
"Awdhesh Dubey alias Lallu, a native of Janjgir-Champa district, was arrested from Magarpara area of Bilaspur town," Additional Superintendent of Police Prashant Katlam said.
The 26-year-old was booked under IPC sections 121 (a) (conspiracy to wage war against the country), 123 (concealing with intent to facilitate design to wage war) and 34 (common intention), the official said.
He is an associate of two youngsters, Sanjay Dewangan and Manindra Yadav, who were arrested on April 15 from here and booked under the same charges.
The two allegedly had connections with members of an ISI-backed spy ring busted by the Madhya Pradesh ATS recently after arresting two persons - Rajjan Tiwari and Balram.
They were also suspected to have links with Satvinder Singh, arrested in Jammu and Kashmir last year on espionage charges, he said.
Awdhesh has multiple bank accounts with several suspicious transactions. During interrogation, Awdhesh admitted he was close to Tiwari and transferred money from these accounts on his instructions allegedly for anti-national activities, Katlam said.
Sanjay and Manindra befriended Tiwari via Awdhesh, he said.
