The bus turned turtle near Bishnah area in the outskirts of Jammu city, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Simrandeep Singh said.
In the mishap, one girl studying in Class VI, Kushboo, died and 14 others were injured, two of them critical, he said.
The injured have been hospitalised, DC said, adding a magisterial probe has been ordered.
Police said the cause of accident was yet to be known.
