He gave this direction in a meeting to review the condition of the parks under South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) and its beautification plans.
"There is a need for open gyms in more parks. SDMC has been getting encouraging feedback from the citizens about the facilities at existing open gyms. As of now, 121 open gyms are being used by people. Even elders are attracted to the facility," Sharma said.
The meeting was attended by the additional commissioner and director (horticulture) along with other senior SDMC officers.
SDMC has over 6,000 parks being maintained by its horticulture department.
