Opposition members in the Jharkhand Assembly today disrupted Governor Syed Ahmed's speech over the gunning down of six suspected ultras in Khunti district.
Brandishing newspapers on the killing near Namsili village by suspected Maoists yesterday, opposition members stood up and shouted slogans during the governor's address.
The members held President's Rule and the new coalition government of Hemant Soren for rising crimes in the state as the governor spoke about development issues and the tragedy in Uttarakhand.
The governor said that democracy in the country and the states depended on the conduct of members.
"I have full confidence that you will always maintain the dignity and sanctity of this House with your actions and conduct," Ahmed said.
Ahmed said he was addressing development issues while the opposition were protesting.
He called on them to forget differences and rise above political lines for all round development.
