The opposition today staged a walkout in Kolkata Municipal Corporation's special session over the Lake Mall agreement issue in south Kolkata..
While the left, Congress and BJP councillors shouted slogans in protest against alleged non-transparent agreement, Mayor Sovon Chatterjee said the mother agreement had been signed way back in 1987 during left front regime.
And all the subsequent agreements didnot flout the spirit of the initial agreement, he said.
A section of media recently hinted at some controversy over the signing and lease of the mall between the KMC and a private group.
