Pakistan Army troops opened small and medium weaponry firing and lobbed rocket-propelled grenades in Mendhar sub-sector of Poonch district at around 1230 hours, Defence Spokesman S N Acharya said.
Indian troops gave an equal calibre retaliation, resulting in exchanges that stopped around 1340 hours, he said, adding there was no report of loss of life or injury.
The Indian posts which came under attack are Palli, 485, 485A, Puna and Noyal.
On September 9, Pakistani troops had fired with small arms at Gamdhir and Mendhar sub-sectors along the LoC.
Pakistani troops, which violated ceasefire along the LoC in two forward areas of Gigrial and Laukikan in Jammu district, targeted Indian posts with small arms and medium machine guns on Monday, Acharya said, adding the firing continued till midnight without any causality or injury.
