There was a brief firing of few rounds by Pakistan Rangers on Chinaz BoP along IB, Border Security Force officials said.
No one was injured in the incident, they said.
On January 13, the Rangers and BSF troops had exchanged fire along the International Border in Samba sector of the state.
On January 12 also, both the forces had exchanged fire along the IB in Kathua district.
Security has been beefed up at the International Border ahead of Republic Day. BSF has deployed close to 1,200 additional personnel there in view of US President Barack Obama's visit to India later this week.
