Parrikar visited the family in the evening at Cariappa Vihar residence in Delhi Cantt and condoled the death of the officer, official sources said here.
He told the wife and the three children that the officer was brave and had shown an exemplary courage in fighting the terrorist.
Parrikar also assured the family of full support from the army, the Defence Ministry and himself, they said.
