Parts of Punjab, Haryana lashed by rains

The mercury today remained at normal levels in Punjab and Haryana even as a few cities were lashed by rains in both the states.
Chandigarh had a maximum temperature of 32.8 deg C and received 1.6 mm rains, the MeT department said here.
Among other places in Haryana, 32.9 deg C was recorded in Ambala and it got 0.3 mm rains.
Maximum temperatures settled at 36 deg C, 36.3 deg C, 33 deg C, 37.2 deg C in Bhiwani, Hisar, Karnal and Narnaul respectively.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 32.8 deg C and Patiala settled at 33.6 deg C. Ludhiana received 6 mm rains, while it had a maximum temperature of 31.6 deg C.
The MeT department in its forecast said isolated places in Punjab and Haryana will get light to moderate rains in the next 24 hours.
