Parvathipuram Municipality officer arrested on graft charges

A Town Planning & Building Overseer of Parvathipuram Municipality here was today arrested while accepting bribe from a city resident to expedite his application.
The accused, identified as N P Janardhan Rao, had demanded bribe from G Thrinadha to process his building plan application expeditiously, an ACB release said here.
After receiving the complaint, the ACB laid a trap and caught Rao red-handed while accepting Rs 15,000 from Thrinadha, it said, adding the bribe amount was recovered from the accused.
The officer was arrested and produced before the ACB court at Visakhapatnam, it further said.
A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
