Patel asks US-based Gujaratis to join state govt campaigns

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today asked non-resident Gujaratis (NRGs), settled in the USA, to join campaigns of the state government related to health and service sectors.
"Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today addressed NRGs settled in New York, Atlanta, Tampa and Chicago of the USA through satellite video conferencing from her residence in Gandhinagar," an official statement said.
Patel made an appeal to NRGs to join various campaigns of the state government related to health and service sectors and give their contribution in making their motherland more prosperous, it added.
The Chief Minister urged the US-based medical experts to come forward and give their support in treatment of various critical diseases and for the statewide child health care campaign, which will begin from June 15, the statement said.
Patel, who had taken over as the Chief Minister in May last year, also informed about her achievements.
She said her government has taken various initiatives such as women empowerment, youth skill development and agricultural development, the statement said.
Patel said the Gujarat government has set a target of 100 per cent toilet facilities in every household in the state in next three years and as a part of cleanliness drive, more than six lakh toilets were constructed in rural areas, it added.
