The show's creator Ryan Murphy broke the casting news on Twitter.
"Happy to announce that Patrick Schwarzenegger has joined the cast of Scream Queens," Murphy posted.
It's unclear what role Patrick, 21, is playing on the college-set series, but it marks his first scripted TV gig.
The son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver joins the cast members that include Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Ariana Grande, Keke Palmer, Abigail Breslin, Jamie Lee Curtis, Oliver Hudson, and Nick Jonas.
The new show is scheduled to debut on September 22 on FOX.
