Pawar, Saili reach semifinal of Scottish Open

Indian shuttlers Anand Pawar and Saili Rane notched up contrasting victories to advance to the semifinals of men's and women's singles event respectively at the USD 50,000 Scottish Open Grand Prix here.
Pawar, seeded seven, prevailed over Belgium's Yuhan Tan 21-16 14-21 21-10 in the men's singles match that lasted 53 minutes. He will take on 10th seed Tzu Wei Wang in the semifinals.
With this win, Pawar took his head-to-head count against Yuhan to 2-0. He had beaten him at the 2010 Dutch Grand Prix.
In women's singles, Saili saw off third seed Linda Zetchiri of Bulgaria 21-18 21-11 to set up a clash with second seed Beatriz Corrales in the semifinals at the Emirates Arena.
