Pb police to focus on technology-enabled functioning

Punjab police is focusing on the need of a technology-enabled functioning and response to provide a safe environment in the state, a senior official said today.
Punjab police chief Sumedh Singh Saini, presiding over a two-day workshop on 'Safe City Solution' here, said the state police have identified terrorism and street crimes, the two most important areas for focus and to ensure zero tolerance for these.
He said that Sukhbir Singh Badal, who is also the state's Home Minister, has categorically directed the police department for making Ludhiana and Amritsar the most safe cities by devising a state-of-the-art 'Safe City Solution' on the pattern of major metropolitan cities all over the world.
