Terming PDP-BJP coalition in Jammu and Kashmir, which completed 100-days in office, as a "total failure", Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) today said the state government's claim regarding development has proved to be a "cruel joke".
"100 days of coalition in the state has proved a total failure on all fronts. Tall Claims of (Chief Minister) Mufti (Mohammad Sayeed) and (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi with regards to overall development of the State and people have proved a cruel joke to the people of Jammu and Kashmir," PCC president, Ghulam Ahmad Mir said here.
Mir was addressing a party workers' convention at party's headquarters here.
Mir lashed out at the coalition government saying it had "failed" to mitigate the sufferings of the people affected by the last year's floods.
"The government has failed to mitigate the sufferings of flood affected people like traders, businessmen and shopkeepers who have suffered heavily due to the deluge. The coalition is misleading the people in the name of relief and rehabilitation. It is not even able to ensure supply of rations to the people particularly in far flung areas of the state," he said.
The PCC president said the government was "hiding its failure" to secure financial assistance for the affected people.
"It is now hiding its failure to secure financial assistance for the worst kind of devastation and now befooling people by heavily underestimating the losses," he said.
