Pius Tirkey passes away

Veteran Revolutionary Socialist Party leader Pius Tirkey passed away today evening at his Mayur Vihar residence due to age-related illness.
He was 85. He is survived by his wife, two sons and three daughters.
Tirkey was a five-time MLA from Alipur Duar in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal.
He was undergoing dialysis for the last six months at Metro hospital in Noida as both of his kidneys had failed.
"He died today at 5 PM. He was undergoing dialysis as both of his kidneys had failed," his son Mukti said.
Tirkey had also suffered heart attack twice in the last six months, Mukti said.
