A day after a three-year-old boy was kidnapped, police today rescued him from Sahibabad area of the district and arrested the kidnapper.
Ishant was kidnapped while he was playing near his Vijay Nagar residence by a neighbour, Shamshad.
According to police, Shamshad had demanded a ransom of Rs 50,000 from the boy's mother, Sano.
"Shamshad took Ishant to a vacant factory in Sahibabad area and made a call to his mother demanding ransom. Following complaint, we traced the phone and rescued the boy from his custody," said a senior police officer.
Police arrested Shamshad and seized a country-made pistol from him.
