The activists of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), protesting against inflation, corruption and deteriorating law and order, marched towards Civil Lines railway crossing, which was blocked by police.
When some of the activists tried to cross over and pushed policemen, police had to use mild force and water cannons to disperse the agitators, ACP Sumit said.
Several activists were also detained, he said.
Police said that no one was injured in the incident, but BJYM claimed that some activists received injuries.
"Stipend to unemployed youths has been stopped, and against a propaganda of the Gehlot government to provide jobs to 10 lakh youth, only 1.42 lakh jobs were filled up in the last five years of its rule, BJP MLA Om Birla, who courted arrest during the protest alleged.
