The incident took place three days ago when an unidentified body was dumped by the two policemen ASI Lalji Kaurav and constable Jitendra Singh Thakur in the Chapara area, after which, dogs ate it, the police said.
Despite taking money from the local panchayat for burying the body after postmortem at a designated place, they just dumped it behind the mortuary and covered it with stones.
Later, street dogs ate the body parts and when the matter came to light, Superintendent of Police B P Chandravanshi ordered their suspension after a probe, Additional SP Mukesh Shrivastava said.
