Delhi Government has suspended a pollution level testing inspector (PLTI) posted at the Auto Rickshaw Unit of Burari Authority on charges of corruption.
Transport Minister Gopal Rai said the department had received a complaint of corruption against Inspector of Burari Authority Prem Dutt, following which an enquiry was conducted in which charges of corruption, prima facie, was established.
"The government has taken a serious view in the matter and the concerned Inspector has been placed under suspension," said a statement, issued by the Transport Department.
Rai emphasised the need to take appropriate measures to end corrupt practices prevalent in the day-to-day functioning of the Transport Department.
"The government will take strict action against corruption and malpractices," he said, even as he directed the senior officers to make more field visits and keep strict vigil on such activities at the Transport Authority.
