Mukherjee will be leaving today for his home state.
He will inaugurate the 100th session of the Indian Science Congress at Kolkata tomorrow, a Rashtrapati Bhavan press release said.
The focal theme for the event is 'Science for shaping the Future of India'.
Plenary sessions and special lectures in cutting edge areas will be held from January 3 to 7, the release said.
