is learnt to have met Chief Justice of India T S Thakur this evening.
The day he took over as the new Law Minister, Prasad had said, "The Law Minister should surely meet the CJI and I will be doing that."
His meeting comes days after his predecessor D V Sadananda Gowda and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had met Justice Thakur to iron out differences on draft memorandum of procedure -- a document which guides the appointment of judges to the Supreme Court and the 24 high courts.
The government and the judiciary are trying to settle their differences on key clauses of the document so that the revised memorandum of procedure can become operational.
While deciding on ways to improve the collegium system, the Supreme Court had asked the government to redraft the MoP in consultation with states.
