The incident occurred at Benali locality when Aparna Sahu, the headmistress of Banamali Primary School, was holding a meeting in a room, police said.
Two persons barged in during the meeting, ransacked the room and assaulted Sahu, they said, adding the duo were shouting against a purported move to remove members of the old managing committee of the school.
The headmistress identified the two intruders as known Trinamool Congress workers Sujit Mondal and Alaudding Shah.
Sahu has lodged a complaint at Shreepore police outpost in connection with the incident.
