Prisoner escapes from court

A 22-year-old inmate of the Nashik Central Jail, serving life sentence, gave the slip to police and fled from a court in Niphad near here Thursday, an official said.

Srawan Suresh Pimpale had been taken to the court for a case when he managed to escape by pushing away the policemen escorting him, an official of the Niphad police station said.

A manhunt has been launched for him, the official added.
