In her complaint, the then Indore Jail Superintendent Shaifali Tiwari stated that Deputy Secretary Dashrath Kumar had stayed in a hotel in the South Tukoganj area on August 8 and 9, a Lokayukta police press statement said today.
Though jail officials had booked the hotel for Kumar's official stay, Shaifali alleged that Kumar left the hotel without paying the bills.
Later, Deputy Secretary Kumar asked Shaifali, through a jail warden, to clear his hotel dues, her complaint said.
An investigation has been launched against Kumar for allegedly misusing his official position, though no criminal case has been registered against him so far, the release said.
Incidentally, Shaifali was transferred from Indore to Satna district as Jail Superintendent last month.
