Prof Gautam Bora joins as IIITG Director

Professor Gautam Barua today joined as Director of the Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIITG).
The former two-time (2003-13) Director of Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT-G) has been appointed by the Board of the Institute for a five year term, said a release of IIITG.
Prof Barua was the Mentor Director of IIITG since the Institute started here in August 2013 that conducts B. Tech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering(ECE) and PhD programmes in CSE, ECE, Humanitites and Mathematics, the release said.
Prof Barua is an alumnus of IIT Bombay and his doctoral degree is from the University of California, Santa Barbara USA.

IIITG's campus is coming up on a 70 acre area near the Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi International airport here.
Admission to its B. Tech programmes are through JEE(Main).
