Proposal for track doubling in Udupi submitted

: The Konkan railways have submitted a proposal to the Centre for doubling of Udupi-Thokur and Roha-Karanjadi railway line.
The proposal for the doubling and laying a new railway line from Chiplun to Karadin in the sector had been submitted to Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, a railways release here said.
Konkan Railways aims to set up compost plants for all the stations and steps would be taken to make Madgaon a 'Zero Waste Station'.
Officials had been instructed to inspect all stations along the Konkan route to ensure cleanliness, it said.
Closed Circuit cameras had been installed at all major railway stations and patrolling by Railway Police Force had been intensified. An escalator would be introduced at Udupi railway station, the release said.
