The local bodies include five municipal corporations and 126 municipal councils and nagar panchayats, according to an official release.
In a function organised here, Punjab's Local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi gave drafts of grants to Chief Parliamentary Secretaries, MLAs, Commissioners of Municipal Corporations, Executive Officers of nagar panchayats and councils.
Joshi said in the first phase under 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', Rs 3.5 crore has been given to four municipal corporations.
He said the grants have been given to 131 local bodies in the state to put the "stalled" development projects on fast track.
