Accused Aadhar Bapu Bagul, who was arrested yesterday had demanded the sum from the complainant for fixing the rent for the premises he had let out to new offices in Palghar, SP Sanjay Mohite of the Thane ACB stated in an official release.
The complainant lodged a complaint with the Thane unit of the ACB which laid a trap at the PWD office here yesterday and nabbed Bagul accepting the money.
The arrested accused has been charged under sections 7,12,13(1)(D) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 and offence has been registered with local police station.
