Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker calls working with music director A R Rahman on the period-drama "Mohenjo Daro" a rewarding experience and says the maestro's tunes have enhanced the film's look.
Rahman has also sung a track, "Tu Hai", in the upcoming Hrithik Roshan-starrer movie. The Gowariker-helmed movie, set in the pre historic era, stars debutante Pooja Hegde.
"Mohenjo Daro" marks the third film collaboration between Gowariker and Rahman after "Lagaan" and "Jodha Akbar".
The Academy Award winning musician also worked with the "Swades" director on the latter's TV show "Everest".
"It has been a rewarding experience as we both got the chance to enter an entirely different space and time. We had to build a lot from imagination and we did that after doing research and consulting archaeologists about the possibilities and probabilities of this period which does not get categorised as history but as pre-history.
"I stayed within the findings from the excavations and the artefacts, while creating a make-believe world and Rahman has helped shape that world beautifully, exotically and believably," Gowariker said in a statement.
Produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Sunita Gowariker, "Mohenjo Daro" is slated to release on August 12.
