Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will be visiting his parliamentary constituency Amethi on May 18 and 19 to meet farmers affected by untimely rains.
"After Kisan Padyatra in Telangana on May 14/15, Rahul Gandhi will be visiting Amethi on May 18 & 19, to interact with farmers & INC workers", the Congress said on its Twitter handle.
Gandhi will have a busy schedule on May 18 and 19, who will meet people from all walks of life including farmers who have recently lost their crops by untimely hailstorms and hailstones, Chandra Kant Dubey, the representative of Gandhi in Amethi, said.
This will be Gandhi's first visit to his Parliamentary constituency after the row over the scrapping of the mega food park in Amethi broke out.
Earlier this week, the Congress Vice President had raised the food park issue in the Lok Sabha accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of practising "politics of revenge" by scrapping the project.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Smriti Irani today also announced her visit Gandhi's constituency Amethi on May 12, but an irked Congress has said it will oppose it over the cancellation of food park project.
Just days after Irani, who had unsuccessfully contested against Gandhi in Lok Sabha elections, attacked the Congress vice-president accusing him of ignoring his constituency for the last 10 years, BJP today announced that she will address 'Kisan Panchayats' in all blocks in the pocket-borough of the Nehru-Gandhi family.
