The maximum temperature too registered a fall and is likely to hover around 34 degrees Celsius later in the day.
"The areas under Safdarjung, Lodhi Road, Palam, Aayangar and Ridge observatories recorded a rainfall of 18 mm, 21.2 mm, 25.9 mm, 33 mm, and 10.8 mm respectively," a MeT Department official said.
The Safdarjung observatory, whose recording is considered official for the city, registered a low of 21.8 degrees Celsius this morning, six notches below the normal.
However, the relative humidity level shot up in the morning, recording around 98 per cent, the MeT official said.
The weatherman has forecast a generally cloudy sky later in the day, with thunderstorm and rain.
"The maximum and minimum temperature tomorrow are likely to hover around 34 and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively," he said.
