Light to moderate rainfall lashed parts of Punjab and Haryana Sunday, leading to a dip in mercury at many places.
Chandigarh was lashed by rains during late afternoon hours. The maximum temperature here settled at 33 degree Celsius, which was within the normal limit as per the MeT department report.
Amritsar, which was also lashed by rains, recorded a high in temperature of 33.2 degree Celsius, one notch below normal limits.
Ludhiana and Patiala recorded respective maximum temperatures of 33.7 degree Celsius and 34.1 degree Celsius.
Hisar, which received light rain, recorded a high of 33 degree Celsius, down from the normal limits.
Ambala recorded a high of 34.8 degree Celsius, while Bhiwani's maximum settled at 31.1 degree Celsius.
Karnal recorded a high of 32.0 degree Celsius, while Narnaul's maximum dropped by eight degrees below normal to settle at 27 degree Celsius.
According to the MeT department forecast for the next two days, rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana.
