Raj announces pilgrimage scheme for senior citizens

The Rajasthan government today announced a pilgrimage scheme for senior citizens under which the state will bear all trip expenses of one lakh selected candidates.
It will cover pilgrimages to Jagannathpuri, Rameshwaram, Vaishno Devi, Tirupati, Gaya, Varanasi, Amritsar, Dwarkapuri, Bihar Sharif, Shirdi, among other shrines, an official spokesperson said.
All divisional commissioners and district collectors have been directed to implement the scheme, he said, adding, a committee at the divisional headquarter level has been constituted for selection of eligible candidates.
