Rajasthan assembly session likely to be stormy

A brief session of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly beginning on September 16 is likely to be stormy as Opposition Congress would raise its main demand of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje's resignation over Lalitgate controversy.
"Congress has been continuously demanding resignation of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for her clear involvement in signing documents in favour of Lalit Modi, former chairman of IPL and absconder from Rajasthan," Leader of Opposition (Congress) in the state assembly, Rameshwar Dudi told PTI.
Congress had approached Rajasthan Governor and President of India submitting separate memoranda demanding resignation of Raje, but is was not heard by the BJP-led NDA government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi kept silence on the important matter, Dudi said.

Deteriorating law and order situation leading to rape incidents everyday, fleeing of notorious criminal Anandpal from judicial custody during trial on road, looming drought due to poor monsoon, farmers and labourers' apathetic situation, inflation due to high taxes on fuel, and poor governance in last 22 months would be the main issues to be raised in the house when it begins, Dudi said.
Law and order was so worst that even BJP MLAs were facing attacks on them, he said.
Though Congress MLAs got thin unity in the house but it would raise every issue and seek the government's reply on the floor, he said, adding, CLP meeting would be held on September 15.

When contacted BJP's K L Gurjar, chief whip in the assembly, he said the house would begin with obituary reference and would hold Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting to draw work schedule of the coming session.
Earlier during cabinet briefings, Parliamentary Minister R S Rathore said that at least six amendment bills including Quota for OBC, EBC would be brought in the session.
BJP will be holding its party MLAs' meeting on September 15 for which a whip was issued asking all the legislators to attend it.
