Prez to undertake 2-day visit to Nagpur

President Pranab Mukherjee will arrive here tomorrow on a two-day trip, packed with a string of engagements, including 151st anniversary of Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
Mukherjee will release a souvenir titled 'Gaurav Granth' of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) tomorrow, City Mayor Praveen Datke told reporters.
The civic body has completed 150 years and the President will attend 151th year celebration of NMC, Datke said.
Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis, Union Minister for Transport and Shipping Nitin Gadkari and state Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule will remain present on the occasion.
On September 15, the President will be present for the 13th Convocation of the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT).
Human Resources and Development Minister Smriti Irani, along with Rao, Fadnavis, Gadkari and Bawankule will be present for the function.
A total of 1,140 students will received degree certificates while 48 students will receive Ph.D.
312 students will receive M.Tech certificates, five students will receive M.Tech by Research, one student will receive M. Arch by Research, 45 students will receive M.Sc degrees and the number of students graduating as B Tech and B.Arch are 729.
