Ramachandra had been accused of purchasing seven imported luxury cars from a person and was arrested by CBI sleuths here yesterday.
Principal Sessions Judge for CBI cases, Justice R Krishnamoorthy remanded Ramachandra to 14 day judicial custody yesterday after he was produced before him.
Ramachandra moved bail plea today and CBI meanwhile has also moved an application, praying for five day custody of the accused for questioning.
Hyderabad-based businessman Alex Joseph is the main accused in the case which relates to a probe into car import scam in which high-end cars were sold to politicians and businessmen allegedly by evading customs duty.
Both the petitions were heard today and the case has adjourned for tomorrow.
