Rao for early completion of power projects

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today sought the completion of power projects being taken up by state power generation corporation (Telangana Genco) within a fixed time-frame.
He said the government would release funds for the construction of power projects from time to time.
Rao today handed over the cheque for Rs 350 crore as the first instalment to PSU major Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), which would construct the power generation projects in Telangana, a release from the CMO said.
BHEL is building a 800 MW project at a cost of Rs 3,810 crore at Kothagudem, a 1080 MW project at Rs 4,200 crore at Manuguru in the state, it said.
The Manuguru plant would be completed in two years and Kothagudem plant in three years, the release quoted BHEL CMD Prasada Rao as saying.
The Chief Minister sought speeding up the works at Jayapur in Adilabad district of the state, the release added.
