The cook identified as Shrikant, hailed from Jharkhand and was working at the PG accommodation since the last four years.
"He had gone to the top floor of the two-storey house telling his employers to call his family. When he did not return for a considerable time and his phone went unanswered, some of the students who lived at the PG accommodation went up to check and found him hanging from an iron angle sticking out of the roof," said a senior police official.
"No foul play is suspected in the case as the door of the roof was locked from inside and there were no injury marks on Shrikant's body," he added.
Police has informed the victim's family. The body has been kept in a mortuary and postmortem will be done after his relatives arrive. Further investigations are on, police said.
