The incident took place on Sunday night outside victim Prashant Deshmukh's house at Honpada near Vasai-Kaman Road in Vasai, PI Har Mane of Waliv police station said.
Deshmukh was fired at around 10.30 PM from a point blank range by the duo who fled the scene soon after the attack, police said.
Deshpande was rushed to the local hospital where he is being treated.
According to police, the near fatal attack was carried out over a land dispute.
Police have charged the shooters under sections 307 of the IPC and various other sections of the Arms Act.
